We verify your student status with either a student ID or a student visa. This usually takes 24hours except for Sundays. Once verified we send you a student discount voucher that you can use on phone service offers on this site. Once you purchase a service at a discount we send you an eSIM on the activation date you specify. Install the eSIM to connect to your new phone service.

We use a new technology called eSIM that delivers phone service to your mobile phone without needing to ship physical SIM cards. This lets us provide this service at a discount to students world-wide.

Can I renew the plan?
You can renew the plan on the operator’s site or the operator’s retail stores
Do I get a discount on renewals?
No. The discount is only on initial purchase upto a maximum of 3 months.
How much data do I need?
We always recommend students to take unlimited data plans. However we have plans that start as low as 1GB/month.
Is there unlimited calling?
All our plans include unlimited local calling. Some of our plans include International calling to let you call home. These options are visible in the drop downs on the product page.
Which mobile operator should I choose?
T-mobile has the most varied and lowest cost options. AT&T has best compatibility with International phones, whereas Verizon is said to have best coverage in remote areas.
Why do I need a local number?
A local number is recommended to connect with local businesses or to make reservations.
Is my phone is eSIM capable?
Dial *#06# on your phone. If you see an EID number your phone is eSIM capable.
Do I need to check my phone compatibility?
All recent unlocked iPhones (12+) will work seamlessly and at full speed. For the others we certainly recommend a compatibility check. Older phones may be compatible but may not get full speed or may have lower coverage.
Can I start using my phone service before travelling?
No, the phone service is only usable when you arrive at your destination.
Do you accept international credit cards?
Yes, however your card must pass the security checks put in place by our bankers.
How long is the phone contract?
There is no contract. This is a prepaid service that is renewed month to month.
